2 days old!
Landon is great today! He's been eating and peeing and pooping lots! He does have a little bit of jaundice so that's why he's a bit yellow but the doctors aren't worried about it. Enjoy the new pictures!http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=155310478/a=73028676_73028676/t_=73028676

Landon has arrived!
Hi Everyone! Landon finally decided to join us...a day after his scheduled induction date. Paul and I went in at 4 am on April 10th to get started on pitocin...received some pain medication that did not work at about 9:45 and then finally broke down and got an epidural at about 11 am. Once that kicked in Paul, my Mom, my Dad and I played a game of Euchre and actually had a good time. I'm not too sure about the timing on everything after that but I was stuck at 7 cm dilated for about 5 hours and then went to 8 cm and was in terrible pain thereafter. Landon was posterior which means he was coming head first but he was facing up and was putting terrible pressure on my back and butt. Apparently this is not a good way for babies to fit through the birth canal. I was in labor for about 20 hours and I pushed for about 4 hours. Finally, at about 2:10 am the Dr. came in to try and turn him for about the fifth time(this is a very excruciating procedure to say the least). She was not successful and told us that she was very doubtful that he was coming out that way because he was so stuck in the birth canal. Now, you would think that he would have a big head but actually it's very normal in size. I guess it just had to due with the placement(due to being posterior) and shapes of things. After crying hysterically through more contractions and talking it over with Paul we decided that obviously we had no choice but to get him out as soon as we could. So, at about 2:45 they began prepping me for an emergency C-section. The Dr. had a tough time pulling him out because of him being stuck in the birth canal but finally at 3:34 am on April 11th he was born. He came out with his eyes wide open...at least that's what Paul said. I did not get to see him right away. The pediatrician brought Landon in while I was being sewn up and he was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! I was shaking uncontrollably so I could not hold him yet but after 45 minutes of sewing me back up and 45 minutes in recovery I finally got to hold my baby boy. He was born 8 lbs 12 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long! We don't know how he got so tall but he makes for a nice sturdy little boy. Make sure you all check out the picture link and visit us sometime if you want to meet him. We will be going home tomorrow or Saturday.
Here is a link so you can all check out some pictures of our little boy!
