October and beginning of November

We haven't posted anything in so long and we are sorry for that. Landon is growing up so fast and developing into a skillful little guy. He is almost 7 months old and started crawling and pulling himself to a stand a month ago. He just started to feed himself little puffs of cereal and has discovered that stair-climbing is his favorite past-time. We've come to the realization that we are not going to have a break until he's 10 or so. He doesn't really slow down. We've had to put gates up and hopefully this weekend we'll get to the store to buy some other safety items like cupboard and drawer locks.
As for Paul and I...if anyone cares :) We are both enjoying our jobs at Maple City Rubber and looking forward to getting some fixing up and decorating done on our house. Maybe we'll even finish unpacking!

Since Paul's been home

Landon is now sitting on his own and loves it! He's so very close to crawling and sometimes gets frustrated that he just hasn't figured it out yet. He wants to be everywhere like grabbing cats, pulling things off the fridge and just beating the heck out of anything in his path. Watch out!

Almost 4 months!

I guess it's about time I update our blog. It's been a while! Landon will be 4 months old on the 11th. He is getting so big! Last week he weighed in at 18 lbs 8 oz. Paul was home this past weekend and we went out shopping for some fall and winter clothes for Landon. We had to buy 12 months stuff and decided to get some 18 month clothes too, just in case....Geez!

Landon is rolling over lots and laughing and really seems like he's close to crawling. He's starting to straiten up a lot when I hold him to a stand so I'm excited about that. While Paul was home we fed Landon his first cereal. How fun! He seemed to really like it. I was really debating starting this as early as 4 months but he's such a big boy and I know he has not been satisfied with just his bottles. Last evening he ate the cereal really well and slept like a champ last night.

Landon and I got back last week from vacation with Paul's family. We had such a great time! Landon was a little under the weather but it didn't let him get in the way of having a good time. It was a great break for me too because there were so many people there to help me out and I got tons of sleep :) Landon also got to meet his big cousin Aiden! Aiden is so sweet to Landon and probably can't wait for him to be big enough to beat on...hehe

We found a great baby-sitter for Landon! Stacy will be taking care of Landon and Kaedin(Bri's daughter) during the week. We are really excited about her! And excited that L & K get to hang out every day too!
Paul is getting close to being done with his school down in Oklahoma. We can't wait to have him home for good! He should be home on the 25th.

3 months

Landon will be 3 months old on Wednesday and boy is he getting big and learning so many new things. He started rolling over about 2 weeks ago and he has finally figured out how to control his hands well enough to keep them in his mouth most of the time. He is growing out of most of his 6 month clothing and is into some 9 month and 12 month things. He sleeps very well at night! He tends to go to sleep around 8 or 8:30 and he sleeps till about 4 or 5. He wakes up eats his bottle and usually falls back asleep for another hour or 2...Then is PLAY time! He is so happy in the morning and is so funny!
The 4th of July was fun but we missed Paul. Landon was not bothered by the noisy parade so that was nice.
Paul comes home on friday the 13th for a couple days and that will be great! He hasn't seen Landon in about 5 weeks and is going to be amazed at how much Landon ha grown.
WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE DADDY!
Is it okay for Mommy to be drinking a beer while she's feeding me a bottle? Only at the pool!
Teething rings are cool!
My Poo Poo is funny...and comfy too!

Big Boy!

Landon had his 2 month appointment with the pediatrician and he is off the charts as far as size goes. He was 14 lbs 5 oz and 25 inches long. He's in the 99th percentile in both categories. He was only in the 25th percentile for his weight with his height though, so he's relatively slender. He's wearing 6-9 month clothing because of his height...it's crazy!
He's so happy all the time(except a little fussing in the evening).

5 weeks old and he's a giant

Landon is now a little over 5 weeks old and he's so big. He got weighed on wednesday and was 12 lbs and 13 ounces. He really likes to eat and last night he slept for 6 hours so we were very happy about that. Tomorrow night Landon is staying all night at Grandma Nancy's house and I think he's pretty excited about it. I am a little nervous about how I will be without him all night but I know he will do great!

He's old enough for beer right? :)

Landon is getting BIG!

Landon is now about 2 1/2 weeks old and boy is he getting huge. He was 10 lbs 8 oz at his 2 weeks pediatrician appointment...he gained almost 2 lbs in 2 weeks. Nursing is going great and he sleeps pretty well most nights. He poops and farts a lot so we know he's going to be just like his Daddy :)

2 days old!

Landon is great today! He's been eating and peeing and pooping lots! He does have a little bit of jaundice so that's why he's a bit yellow but the doctors aren't worried about it. Enjoy the new pictures!http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=155310478/a=73028676_73028676/t_=73028676

Landon has arrived!

Hi Everyone! Landon finally decided to join us...a day after his scheduled induction date. Paul and I went in at 4 am on April 10th to get started on pitocin...received some pain medication that did not work at about 9:45 and then finally broke down and got an epidural at about 11 am. Once that kicked in Paul, my Mom, my Dad and I played a game of Euchre and actually had a good time. I'm not too sure about the timing on everything after that but I was stuck at 7 cm dilated for about 5 hours and then went to 8 cm and was in terrible pain thereafter. Landon was posterior which means he was coming head first but he was facing up and was putting terrible pressure on my back and butt. Apparently this is not a good way for babies to fit through the birth canal. I was in labor for about 20 hours and I pushed for about 4 hours. Finally, at about 2:10 am the Dr. came in to try and turn him for about the fifth time(this is a very excruciating procedure to say the least). She was not successful and told us that she was very doubtful that he was coming out that way because he was so stuck in the birth canal. Now, you would think that he would have a big head but actually it's very normal in size. I guess it just had to due with the placement(due to being posterior) and shapes of things. After crying hysterically through more contractions and talking it over with Paul we decided that obviously we had no choice but to get him out as soon as we could. So, at about 2:45 they began prepping me for an emergency C-section. The Dr. had a tough time pulling him out because of him being stuck in the birth canal but finally at 3:34 am on April 11th he was born. He came out with his eyes wide open...at least that's what Paul said. I did not get to see him right away. The pediatrician brought Landon in while I was being sewn up and he was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! I was shaking uncontrollably so I could not hold him yet but after 45 minutes of sewing me back up and 45 minutes in recovery I finally got to hold my baby boy. He was born 8 lbs 12 oz and was 22 1/2 inches long! We don't know how he got so tall but he makes for a nice sturdy little boy. Make sure you all check out the picture link and visit us sometime if you want to meet him. We will be going home tomorrow or Saturday.
Here is a link so you can all check out some pictures of our little boy!

Due date...came and went!

So, today is April 4th and Landon was due to arrive by yesterday. He must really like living in the belly! All we know at this point is if he is not here by next tuesday the 10th we will be induced. So his birthday will be somewhere between the 4th and the 10th :) There is light at the end of the tunnel!

Sunday, March 25

Almost all moved in...now it's time for Landon to move OUT!

We started moving into our new home on Friday and we are almost done! We have all of our furniture and have slept there twice but we're still moving some small things from the old house. We love the new house and will be extremely happy to be all settled in. What would make us even happier is if Landon would move OUT of his Mom's belly! He's still in there and we are going on 39 weeks. He's huge and he makes his Mommy very uncomfortable. Aunt Patti is busy finishing the paint job on his new room today so maybe he'll come when that's finished...we hope!
I(Jessi) had my first bath in our new tub last night. It has jets and is a wonderful bonus at this point in pregnancy. I'm hoping I get one more bath in before Landon arrives.

We are so excited about our first home so we can't wait for everyone to come visit!!!! We have lots of places for sleeping :) We'll take and post pictures of the inside once we're a little more organized!

Making Progress!

I had my 36 week appointment today and I am almost 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced! Yay! This could mean that he could come tomorrow or 4 weeks from now though, so we're trying not to get too excited. It's just nice to know that there IS something going on in there :)

Baby Shower : )

Today Granny Nancy threw a beautiful shower for Landon! There was lots of good food to eat and a cute and yummy cake. Aunt Jami and Aunt Patti helped with the food and other arrangements and Grandpa Jeff helped with some decorating. And Grammy Sonya flew up from South Carolina! Landon got lots of very cute clothes, blankets and other comfy things. There were also lots of other items to help Mommy and Daddy take care of him including bottles, first aid kits and bathing items. Landon will have so many people to love him when he gets here!

There are only 5 more weeks before Landon's due date and Jessi is getting very big and rather uncomfortable at times. We can't wait for him to arrive...hopefully it's soon!

Paul got hired!

As most of you know Paul has been waiting since June of 2006 to get hired by the FAA to pursue his career in Air Traffic Control. We finally found out that he has been hired at Cleveland Center located in Oberlin, OH. This is about a 25 minute drive from Norwalk and we are very excited about it. Paul will be spending 3 months in Oklahoma City for some additional training once all of his paperwork goes through. We don't know when he will be leaving but it should be no earlier than April 1st. This is not something that we are particularly looking forward to since we will have a newborn baby to think about but we'll get through it sure enough!

A Home of Our Own!

We have been watching the housing market this past year just waiting for the right time to buy. Well, it may not be the right time for us, due to Landon's birth and Paul's leaving for a couple months but we found the PERFECT house.
On February 5th we put in an offer for a beautiful home here in Norwalk and...they accepted! As of March 14th, 2007 (proposed closing date) we will be the proud owners of a 3 bedroom, 3 bath (1 full, 2 half) 1700 square foot house. The house needs no immediate home improvements and we will just be able to move in and get comfortable. It has a large back yard with screened in patio and is located on a street with very little traffic. It is about 3-4 houses away from Maplehurst Elementary School so Landon will be able to walk there starting in Kindergarten :) So funny that we're thinking about him walking to school when he's not even here yet...hehe!
